An astonishing and unique venue for a romantic moonlit celebration for your special day, just 20 minutes from Lucca. This lovely 18th century villa was built originally as a hunting lodge by a wealthy family, and the great composer, Giaccomo Puccini, used to play the same piano that still stands in the drawing room of the villa. The only villa with a lake view in the whole region of Northern Tuscany, this is a wonderful and romantic location for your special day.
In addition to the beautiful villa, there is a lake facing tower with wonderful views of the lake, the Apuane Alps, the Apennines and sometimes when clear, even the Leaning Tower of Pisa.
Adjacent to the tower is a boathouse with a fine belvedere roof terrace, again with amazing views. Uniquely, it is possible to celebrate your wedding in a legal civil ceremony on this terrace, overlooking the lake. Symbolic weddings can also take place there, while religous weddings can be arranged nearby.
For a spectacular and romatic entrance, it is possible for the bride and groom – or the bride and her father – to arrive at the ceremony gliding across the lake by boat. Aperitifs are taken afterwards on the lovely lawns under the shade of tall pine trees, and then an al fresco candlelit dinner can be enjoyed under the large gazebo tent that faces the lake.
After music and dancing, if you wish, you can withdraw to the villa for coffee, after dinner drinks and musical entertainment, listening to the same operatic ballads played on Puccini’s original piano. Music, DJ and dancing can be arranged in the grounds of the villa.
At this location, it is possible to rent solely the grounds of the villa includine the boat house and the tower and gazebo. Alternatively, rent both grounds and main villa –in which case a private dressing room and bathroom is provided for the bridal party. As this property is so close to Lucca, it is easy to take advantage of the wide selection of accommodation in this wonderful old medieval city. Pisa airport is close by and Lucca can be reached by train directly from Pisa airport.
